Our parish CYO program offers
4 sports for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. We
offer cross country in the Fall, basketball in the Winter,
volleyball and track in the Spring. We also offer a High
School basketball program for boys and girls in the Winter.
Watch for registration announcements in the parish bulletin
and Principal's weekly letter. All players must be enrolled
in
St Francis Xavier School or be enrolled and actively
attending a parish school of religion program. Registration
fees are charged. Our parish CYO program receives no
subsidies from the parish. We rely on registration fees and
private donations to sustain the program. Basketball and
volleyball camps are held in the Summer. Our teams play in
leagues of the Akron CYO. Games/meets are played/run at
sites in the Medina/Akron area. Our own gym hosts many
games in both volleyball and basketball. Qualified
volunteers are needed to coach teams, act as on-site gym
directors during game days, donate time for sports
physicals, perform scorer/timer duties, and act as ticket
takers during end of season tournaments. An athletic board
and athletic director coordinate our parish CYO. Kim Tuchek
is our athletic director. Board members are Matt Becker,
Debbie Bonezzi, Ed Bugner, registrar Diane Bugner,
volleyball commission Sherri Kravec, High School basketball
commission Scott Tuchek, cross country commission Jenn
Stanziano and track commission Jack Srail.
